Friday 5/26 – Normal schedule
Saturday 5/27 – 8,9,10,11 am CrossFit, 11 am Weightlifting.  There will be no Comp Class.
Sunday 5/28 CLOSED
Monday 5/29 – 9,10,11 am Memorial Day Murph WOD.  Heats will begin on the hour.
12 pm BBQ. The cider keg will be full. Bring something to throw on the grill .

February Events

February 5th 6 pm:  Super Bowl 51 Pats vs. Falcons.  We will have the projector out and the keg full.  Bring your favorite football tailgate dish and comfy seat to watch the game.

February 18th 1pm:  Physical Therapy Lecture Series.  Come join DPT’s Eric Munoz and Lee Scantalides for Part 1 of our lecture series, “Mobility, Recovery and Injury Prevention to Optimize Athletic Performance.”  Topics will include staying healthy during the Crossfit Open, recovery techniques and peaking your performance each week.  Followed by a Q and A.  If you are planning on participating in the Open you don’t want to miss it.

February 23rd:  The CrossFit Open Begins. Workout 17.1 will be announced on Thursday night at 8 pm.  For the next 5 weeks we will do each weeks Open workout on Saturday mornings in the gym.  For an added twist, we will have two teams this year.  AM vs PM.  If you regularly attend classes at 6,7,8 and or 12 pm you will be AM. If you regularly attend class at 5,6,7 or 8 pm you will be PM.  Points will be given for top performances in both Scaled and Rx divisions and the CrossFit Gantry Open Champion will be crowned.  Register for the Open on the CrossFit Games website and select CrossFit Gantry as your home affiliate and team.

Saturday Dec 24th 8,9,10,11 am CrossFit.  No Comp Class
Sunday Dec. 25th Closed Christmas Day
Monday Dec. 26th NO 6,7 am Class.  We will have a special 11am and regular Noon Class.  All Evening classes are normal schedule.

Wednesday October 26th 8 pm:  Nutrition Seminar

We are excited to have Kim Jordan, MA, NTP, nutritional consultant from Kettlebell Kitchen, join us on Wednesday October 12 at 8PM for a nutrition presentation! Yep, we are going to talk about food and fueling your athletic body. Topics will include healthy eating, nutrient timing, the Paleo and Zone Diets and how Kettlebell Kitchen can help you achieve your fitness goals. If you are looking to take the next step with your health and fitness, this is a must attend! In subsequent weeks, Kim will be offering 10-15 minute free sessions to help you, one-on-one, with your nutrition plan. This is a FREE event.

Sunday October 16th 9 am: Apple Picking

Let’s have a day out of the city in nature picking apples. We will leave LIC at 9 am and car pool up to Lawrence Farms. They have apple picking, a farm store, a corn maze, horse and buggy rides and other farmy oudoor activities. Bring food and drink to picnic.

Sunday October 30th 9 am: Starting Strength Fall Classic 2016

Back by popular demand, The Starting Strength Fall Classic 2016 will be hosted by Zilber Coaching at CrossFit Gantry on October 30th in NYC for the 3rd time!  Come out and watch, volunteer and cheer on the lifters.

FINDING NYC’S FITTEST AFFILIATE

The NYC Subway Series pits NYC’s affiliates against one another in an epic showdown: each weekend in August we throw down at a different NYC box.

All NYC affiliates are invited to participate: the affiliate with the best overall score at the end of four events wins the Subway Series Trophy and bragging rights for a whole year!

Memorial Day Schedule

Friday: All classes as normal
Saturday: 9,10,11 am , 12 pm Comp Class
Sunday: CLOSED . There will be no Open floor and no Weightlifting class.
Memorial Day: 10, 10:30, 11, 11:30 am heats.  Come in, warm up and start when you are ready.  There will be no early am and no evening classes.   BBQ at 12 pm.

April and May Events

Sunday April 10th 1pm – Kettlebell Kitchen Nutrition Seminar. Please Join Kettlebell Kitchen’s nutritionist to learn more about macro and micro nutrients, Paleo and Zone eating and eating for Health and performance.  This is a free event and is open to members and non-members.

Sunday April 17th 12:30-4 pm- Run Technique Workshop. We will cover Run technique, running drills, video analysis and injury prevention.  $50 for members and $75 for non members.

Sunday April 24th 9 am – Starting Strength Challenge Back by popular demand (and a name change) The Starting Strength Challenge will be hosted by Zilber Coaching. Three attempts to establish a one-rep max in the Squat, Press and Deadlift judged by Starting Strength Coaches in a powerlifting setting.

Saturday April 30th – The gym will be closed for a CORE Leader event.

Sunday May 1st – North Face Endurance Challenge @ Bear Mountain State Park.  Register here
                                    We will have class at 10 am , 11 am and Open Floor at Noon.

Saturday May 14th LIC Springs Block Party 12-5 pm.  Please join us on Vernon Blvd. for the annual LIC Springs Block Party.  We will have a tent set up on Vernon Blvd and equipment out for exercise demos.  Come show off your fitness to all of Long Island City.  Nothing beats burpees on pavement.  Followed by a bbq.  Last years event had over 100,000 people.  They are expecting more this year.

 

Workout 16.5 and Easter Weekend Schedule

Friday March 25th : Normal morning schedule 6,7 am and Noon.
Friday Night Lights- Beginning with heats around 5:30 or 6 pm depending on the workout and going as long as needed. Post WOD hilarity to ensue at Woodbine’s on Vernon.
Saturday March 26th: Normal Schedule 9,10,11 am CrossFit class.
Sunday March 27th: Closed. There will be No Yoga, Open Floor or Weightlifting.
