The Intramural Open

The 2017 CrossFit Open begins in less than 1 week. For 5 weeks, as a gym, we will do the Open workouts on Saturday mornings as part of our regular programming.  As soon as the workout is announced on Thursday nights we will post heat times for Saturday mornings.  Each Saturday for the five weeks, heats will begin at 8:30 am and continue for as long as necessary to fit everyone in.  You can sign up each week for a heat time on Friday mornings.  The Schedule link is at the bottom of this page.

All members of the gym are invited to participate and perform the workouts.  It does not matter if you are a new member of CrossFit Gantry and this is your first CrossFit Open or if you have been CrossFiting for years and thesis your fifth Open.   You can register for the Open on the CrossFit Games website.  Select CrossFit Gantry as your home affiliate so we can validate your scores.

We will be breaking up into two teams for the Open, Morning vs Evening.  The Morning team will consist of the 6,7,8 am and Noon classes, the Evening team the 5,6,7 and 8 pm classes.  There will be several ways for members to earn points for your team.  At the end of the Open, the Morning or Evening CrossFit Open Champs will be crowned. There will be point awarded for overall participation and for performance each  both the Scaled and Rx workouts. Points awarded will be as follows:

Overall points:
5 Points for registering a profile on the CrossFit Games website
5
 points for taking the 2017 Judges Course

Weekly points:
1 point for performing the workout during Saturday morning heats
1 point for logging your score each week
1 point for each heat you judge (up to 3 points) on Saturday morning
1 point for a top 3 score in the Scaled division male and female
1 point for a top 3 score in the Rx division male and female
